ACWF Adds New Group Member
August 6, 2020
The All-China Women's Federation (ACWF) recently welcomed another new group member — the Women's Committee of the China General Chamber of Commerce (CGCC) — after having listed the Chinese Nursing Association as its group member in May. The ACWF's total number of group members is now 19.
The CGCC founded the women's committee this April as its affiliated women's organization.
The CGCC is the most comprehensive organization in the industry of commercial and trade logistics
service in China, which is a typical labor-intensive industry that provides nearly 130 million jobs. Among them, more than 90 million are women, which accounts for about 70 percent.
Women play an active role in the sector. Apart from business activities, they have made extraordinary contributions to the anti-COVID-19 battle and the resumption of work and business, ensuring the coordination between epidemic containment and economic and social development.
According to the ACWF's constitution, registered social organizations that serve society and women and are composed mainly of women may become group members of the ACWF or the women's federations at various levels with the approval of the corresponding federations after voluntary application.
